ABOUT US
Our focus is on creating and sustaining the diverse arts of the City of Mount Vernon, New York. We're an independent, grassroots organization that documents, supports, and presents Mount Vernon arts and culture - including the arts of people who have been here for generations and those who have just arrived. We work to preserve and strengthen the cultural life of our community.
Going forward, THAI will offer exhibitions, concerts, capacity-building workshops and assistance to artistic community of Mount Vernon, NY.
We will conduct field research into community-based local arts, history, and culture, and will assist the Mount Vernon Public Library with perserving a record of Mount Vernonites folklife in their archive.
Our arts education programs will give young people an opportunity to learn and expand on their creative talents, and will reinforce what is currently taught in the schools.
Our publications, videos, exhibitions, and other resources will offer refreshing, positive insight into Mount Vernon. With our work, we will try to deepen the public's understanding of local arts and the peoples that create them, and uplift our community.
