The T.H.A.I. Education Program is three-pronged. In-School, Community and Artist Education.
We will partner with organizations and businesses to facilitate the placement of Mount Vernon-area artists in school and community residencies.
To support these residencies, and offer resources both for artists and educators, we will develop publications, curricula and essays. (Materials will be free/downloadable).
Finally, we will offer technical assistance to artists who want to work in schools and community sites in our regular technical assistance workshop series. Topics will vary, but we will work with artists on such issues as: how to construct a residency program, how to link arts to standards-based curricula, and how to get on arts education roster programs. Workshops will also provide assistance to educators hoping to develop folk arts residencies.
