Mount Vernon, NY is made up of amazing people and incredible, historic places!  World-reknown artists and philanthropists live here, and unparalleled organizations exist within our 4-1/2 square miles.  Unfortunately, many of them are better known away from the city than within Mount Vernon's borders itself.

We are home to, and the birthplace of, artists who have received formal recognition of their arts - as well as artists and organizations whose name and work are legendary within particular communities.  This list will introduce you to a handful of historical trailblazers, and the people and groups currently in our midst through capsule biographies and samples of their work.

To add your name to our growing list, or to learn about artists who offer residencies, workshops, and exhibitions,
